What is Local Prosperity?
Local Prosperity is a four-day festival and conference where people come together to learn, connect, and celebrate. Attend inspiring workshops, build practical hands-on skills, hear from keynote speakers, enjoy live music, and dance the night away.
Across the country, communities are finding new ways to keep wealth rooted locally through community-led projects, supportive public policy, and collaboration between organizations, businesses, and residents. Join us to explore practical ideas for creating good local jobs, strengthening local food systems, supporting worker-owned businesses, and building thriving, resilient communities.
Who is Local Prosperity for?
Local Prosperity is for everyone! Whether you’re a community leader, entrepreneur, artist, student, elected official, volunteer, or simply someone who cares about building stronger communities, there’s something here for you. We also encourage families to attend—this is an intergenerational, family-friendly event.

This is an all ages event! We welcome folks from all walks of life – from children, students and youth, to seniors and elders!

WHERE IN TATAMAGOUCHE IS THE EVENT TAKING PLACE?
Across the village! We’ll be in multiple venues: The main stage will be at the North Shore Recreation Centre, with additional programming taking place at Tatamagouche Regional Academy, the Tatamagouche Public Library, down at Creamery Square (the Grace Arts Centre, the Farmers’ Market, the Boat Shop), and a few other locations to be announced!
HOW DO I REGISTER / PURCHASE TICKETS?
Full pass (all four days) tickets, day tickets, and evening music tickets are on sale now! We designed a tiered/sliding scale ticketing structure this year to keep this event both accessible, and financially sustainable.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes! Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
Can I attend just one workshop or concert?
Absolutely! Single-day passes are available, along with tickets for our evening music events.
Can I transfer my ticket?
Yes! Tickets can be transferred or gifted through Zeffy by manually swapping over the attendee details and resending the ticket.
Are refunds available?
Refunds are available up to 48-hours before the festival starts on August 6th. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for tickets if you do not attend without prior notice.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. Your ticket will be issued digitally, so simply bring your e-ticket with you.
Where should I stay?
Tatamagouche and the surrounding area offer a wide range of accommodations, including campgrounds, cabins, inns, motels, and more.

Where can I park?
There will be free parking available throughout the community, with parking located near each festival venue, including the North Shore Recreation Centre (our main stage) and Tatamagouche Regional Academy.
I thought there was on-site camping. What happened?
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to move to different venues, which meant on-site camping was no longer possible. We know this may be disappointing, and we appreciate your understanding. If you’re travelling to the festival, we encourage you to explore the many campgrounds and accommodations available in and around Tatamagouche.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
– A lawn chair or picnic blanket
– A notebook and pen
– A reusable water bottle or coffee cup
– Comfortable walking shoes (you’ll be walking between venues!)
– Your dancing shoes
– Most importantly, a smile!
What should I wear?
Summer in Tatamagouche can be hot, so dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
What happens if it rains?
Most festival events take place indoors, but you’ll still be travelling between venues, so we recommend bringing a rain jacket or umbrella just in case.
IS FOOD INCLUDED?
Yes & No!
Yes: There will be two community meals (Friday lunch & Sunday lunch)
No: We aren’t catering the event for attendees (this is helping us keep registration/ticket costs down).
There will be a range of food options:
– Two community lunches will be offered (included in ticket costs). Friday & Sunday!
– Food trucks on Friday & Saturday evening
– Check out the local restaurants! There are many delicious eateries and vendors around Tatamagouche and we encourage you to support them!
– Bring a picnic! Pack a blanket and lawn/camping chairs and a cooler and eat your own packed food in our hub area
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Absolutely! Feel free to pack a picnic if you’d like.
There will also be plenty of food available throughout the weekend, including community breakfasts, free community meals on Friday and Sunday, the Tatamagouche Farmers’ Market on Saturday (9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), and food trucks on Friday and Saturday evenings. And, of course, you’re just steps away from some fantastic local cafés and restaurants.
Will there be water refill stations?
Yes! Water refill stations will be available throughout the festival.
Will merchandise be available?

Is smoking or vaping permitted?
Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas and are not allowed inside festival venues.
Can I bring my dog?
Service animals are permitted, unfortunately, pets are not permitted at festival events. If you’re planning a North Shore getaway and travelling with your furry friend, consider one of the area’s local doggy daycare or boarding services while you enjoy the festival.
Is the event accessible?
Yes! All of our venues are wheelchair accessible and have accessible washrooms.
If you have additional accessibility needs, please get in touch before the festival. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Will there be activities for children?
Yes! There will be plenty of activities and sessions for children and youth from Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Local Prosperity is an intergenerational, family-friendly festival, and we encourage you to bring the whole family.
Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?
Yes. Attendees aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless they are participating in designated supervised youth programming.
Can I drop my child off at a session or activity?
Children may only be dropped off at designated supervised youth programming. For all other sessions and activities, parents or guardians are expected to remain with their children. Please refer to the program for details on supervised youth activities.
Are strollers welcome?
Absolutely!
Is there a quiet space?
Yes. A quiet room will be available for anyone who would like a calm place to take a break during the festival.
Are workshops first-come, first-served?
Yes. Seating is first come, first served and cannot be reserved in advance.
Will sessions be recorded?
Yes, most sessions will be recorded.
