Thursday’s Reception Performance

Dawn Heirs is a duo comprised of Benn Ross on drums/percussion and Seth Timothy on guitars. Two veterans of the Nova Scotia indie scene who improvise as they explore folk, rock, psych and jazz elements – creating a unique sonic adventure.

The Brave Boys – Brian Holmes and David Palmer The Brave Boys “Br” for Brian Holmes and “Ave” for Dave Palmer.
Based in Northern Nova Scotia. They play a broad mix of genres, from classic rock and folk ballads to love songs and Irish tunes. You name it—they play it & audiences love it!

Cameron Hawes is a Nova Scotian singer-songwriter blending folk and roots with bluesy grit with a hook-forward writing style. His performances balance strong storytelling with a raw, energetic edge that captivates listening rooms and creates a common ground for the audience.
7:30PM-8PM
Koromanti and the North Star is a band named after the first recorded instance of Afro-diasporic music. The name speaks to the band’s desire to dig up and revive the African roots of folk music and reflects the sonic ways the band shows how that music arrived in Mi’kma’ki. Featuring old time strings and West African percussion Koromanti and the North Star lifts up forgotten African roots, blues, gospel and folk songs from across the diaspora and blends them with ancestral sounds.

Zakary Miller & The Yodelayhee Few celebrate a century of serious artists who didn’t take themselves too seriously, they dig through our musical history to find the funny and forgotten songs, giving them new life. Zakary’s own material does the same for own time, capturing the humour that is life on earth in a timeless, parading, yodeling fashion. With Joe Ferracuti on Piano, Chris Robison on Pedal Steel and Easton Lannaman on Drums, Zakary Miller can’t help but giggle with glee when playing with these talented musicians and he hopes you will too.
9PM-10PM
Bill Ricky is a 6-piece alt-country outfit from Halifax. Their original music brings audiences along for a ride from heartfelt acoustic waltzing to high-energy woman-rock. Since their live debut in 2023, the group has encouraged folks near and far to shine their boots and hit the dance floor. The folks of Bill Ricky can’t wait to get rowdy in Tatamagouche!
Saturday’s Day Time performance
The North Shore Slow Pickers (Michael Coolican, Anne Simmonds, Bruce McDonald, Linda Little, Michael Jensen, and Susan Stephen) are a “professional amateur” band, who have been playing together for nearly two decades, just for the joy of it. They occasionally perform publicly at North Shore community halls, festivals, and farmer’s markets.

Ol’ Soles is a dynamic three-piece band featuring the soulful vocals of Kathy Craig, the versatile guitar work of Susan Arenburg, and the expressive saxophone stylings of David Baxter. Blending contemporary rock, blues, country, and an eclectic mix of crowd favourites, the band is known for its diverse repertoire, strong musicianship, and ability to connect with audiences of all ages.

The Flower Painters are Owen Davies, Isaac Vallentin, Nigel Chapman, and Michael Bigelow. Their songs are raucous and tender, brimming with sensitivity and play. With combined decades of touring in nearly every continent on the planet, the Painters are bonded by music’s limitless possibility for joy.

Hailing from the windy pastures of Seaforth N.S., Lazyhorse bring their own brand of country themed power pop, making a name for themselves in the Halifax music scene for their unique style and vocal delivery. Known for their live energy and big sound, this three piece is sure to pack a punch. With both country and punk rock roots, Lazyhorse is a band the whole family can love.

Formed in late 2024 and known for uploading fuzzed-out live VHS tapes to Reddit, Instagram, and YouTube, The Boojums have quickly built a reputation for their refreshingly raw and unfiltered sound—equal parts nostalgic and forward-looking. Recorded live off the floor, their debut album channels themes of small-town escape, personal reckoning, and full-throttle freedom.

Creamery Square Farmer’s Market – 12PM-2PM
Darren Howse is a musician from Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, who now calls Truro home. He has been playing guitar for more than 25 years and singing for as long as he can remember. With over six years of live performance experience, including the last three as a full-time solo musician, Darren brings a wealth of talent and passion to every show.
His repertoire includes a mix of classic rock, country, folk, East Coast favourites, and well-loved crowd-pleasers. Whether performing at a pub, private event, or community gathering, Darren’s goal is simple: create a relaxed atmosphere, play great music, and ensure everyone has a good time.
